The year 2008 is the second year that a synthesis of the international electronic newsletter, launched by ENA in 2004, has been published in English. It is also the 59th year of the international co-operation inaugurated by ENA in 1949, when it hosted the first foreign students. Fifty-nine is also the number of countries with which ENA co-operated in 2008, as the pages which follow will testify. Sixty-three different nationalities were represented among the applications for the international courses, and students of 54 different nationalities were finally accepted. They came from 50 of the world's capital cities.
In total, ENA has trained 2864 foreign students of 122 different nationalities, to whose numbers were added, for the first time in 2008, students from Ghana and Honduras.
ENA is pleased to present this digest of the School's participation in worldwide projects in 2008 to its English-speaking readers.
