“Des Corps Libres – Une jeune scène française", Reiffers Art’s first exhibition of its group-wide initiatives.

This exhibition invites us to explore the body’s possibilities ౼ singular or universal; evanescent, fantastical or digital; anchored in our current world, science fiction or utopian. From the body-object to the body-subject, from the figurative body to the imprint of a body, from a dream body to a digital avatar body, it is not just a question of freely and opening describing the body, but also of creating the possibility of looking at it in a new way, with total freedom.

The exhibition brings together an entire generation of young talent from the French scene: Ymane Chabi-Gara, Salomé Chatriot, Jean Claracq, Kenny Dunkan, Ben Elliot, Tarek Lakhrissi, Chalisée Naamani, Valentin Ranger, Sara Sadik, Pol Taburet, Sophie Varin, Julie Villard & Simon Brossard, Manon Wertenbroek and Gaspar Willmann.

Curated by Reiffers Art Initiatives committee member Thibaut Wychowanok, the exhibition's body of work questions the representation and fluctuating materiality of the body and celebrates its diversity, struggles and contemporary emancipation.

We produced an art book for the exhibition, containing a series of texts that give context to the work of 15 French artists from the new contemporary scene. It also features a set of illustrations including images from the exhibition and details on each piece. It is not only a complete visual summary of Reiffers Art Initiatives’ first collective exhibition but also an invitation to explore the body’s possibilities.

Reiffers Art Initiatives is a foundation created to support young contemporary creation and cultural diversity.

Reiffers Art Initiatives’ mission is to support France’s new art scene and give it international visibility. It finances and gives exposure to thirty emerging artists every year, who will influence tomorrow’s contemporary art scene.

The Studio des Acacias hosted Kenny Dunkan's "No Apologies" exhibition in October 2021. This marked the first Reiffers Art Initiatives mentorship program exhibition under the mentorship of American artist Rashid Johnson.

Reiffers Art Initiatives, an endowment fund for young contemporary creation and cultural diversity, opened the inaugural exhibition of its mentorship program “NO APOLOGIES” at the Studio des Acacias in October 2021. The exhibition featured work by French artist Kenny Dunkan, under the mentorship of world-renowned artist Rashid Johnson.

“I have too often apologized to myself for being who I am," says the artist. “Because of my skin color, my sexuality...Today, I don't want to apologize for being the person I am anymore." - Kenny Dunkan.

"NO APOLOGIES" delved into the artist's thoughts on his Caribbean heritage. Each installation formed a microclimate, drawing on the cultural richness of Guadeloupe ౼ from the aesthetic and symbolic power of carnival to mythologies and magical and religious beliefs. It also served as a platform for Kenny Dunkan to discuss the post-colonial heritage of his island. The body itself, a recurring theme for the artist, who never hesitates to use his own black body, was also at the heart of the collection: a fragmented body, diverse and in the making.

The title "NO APOLOGIES" ("no excuses") is the artist’s way of adressing the current violence against bodies, whether black, gay, and his refusal to excuse these actions.

NO APOLOGIES is the inaugural programme of the Reiffers Art Initiatives mentorship with the support of Mazarine, La Mode en Images and the Studio des Acacias. Kenny Dunkan, the first artist to receive the award, has continued an in-depth dialogue with his mentor Rashid Johnson. Nourished by his exchanges and the advice of the famous Afro-American artist, Kenny Dunkan has proposed an exhibition at the opening of FIAC 2021 in the form of an initiatory journey through monumental and immersive installations, sculptures, videos and photographs, recounted in this exceptional book, which bears witness to a unique creative epic.

Events

A launch party in the heart of Place Vendôme to unveil the House’s new Haute Joaillerie collection.

The first event was held at Hôtel de Nocé, Boucheron’s historic address. Here, media, clients and international influencers were able to discover the new exceptional pieces from the Haute Joaillerie collection, "Paris, vu du 26". We staged the event in order to showcase the stunning jewelry against beautiful backdrops including the hotel’s historic salons, the famous Place Vendôme and the city of Paris itself.

In parallel, we threw a dinner party in the gardens of the Ritz Hotel. In this striking open-air dining room, we welcomed more than 100 Haute Joaillerie exclusive clients. They got an exclusive sneak peek at the collection and enjoyed an evening of live performances.

In celebration of Boucheron's new collection, Mazarine Event teams designed and produced two events during Paris Haute Couture week.
International media, influencers and more than 100 VICs were invited to discover the "Paris, vu du 26" collection.

With 25 talents, Mazarine Events creates and produces tailor-made brand experiences.

Alongside our creative and artistic community, we imagine memorable experiences that incorporate, from the early stages of creation until after the event, producing content and creating an echo among media and socially.
